SK Planet Combines R&D Capabilities of Its Subsidiaries

-  Holds Tech. Day to leverage technological synergies with five subsidiaries including SK Communications

Seoul, Korea, October 27, 2011 — SK Planet announced that today it holds its first quarterly Tech. Day to leverage the knowledge base and collective technologies of five subsidiaries (SK Communications, Commerceplanet, PAXNet, LOEN Entertainment and TMK), while creating synergies among them.
 
With an aim to become a global platform innovator, the company puts emphasis on creating technological synergies by combining R&D capabilities of its subsidiaries.
 
SK Planet will share its open platform technology, HTML5, high-capacity data processing, Mobile in Vehicle (MIV), T Map and
N-Screen to promote convergence with its subsidiaries’ technologies, namely, Cyworld, open market advertising and broadcasting
platform, thereby enhancing the scalability of diverse platform technologies.
 
“Just as we brought Nate and hoppin together to create an attractive N Screen service, the convergence of technologies
between SK Planet and its subsidiaries will produce new and exciting services such as Cyworld based on T Map,” said SK Planet. 
 
In addition to today’s gathering of 300 R&D employees from six companies, SK Planet plans to have 60% of its workforce in
R&D by 2015 to generate synergies and promote sophistication of its technologies.
 
Moreover, SK Planet plans to step up its efforts to foster an open ecosystem by providing training and support to outside as well as
individual developers through Open Innovation Center and T Academy, and continue to implement diverse policies to promote
technological development.
