SK Planet Adopts Voluntary Self Regulation for T Store Games

2011.11.17
 - Introduced a voluntary self-regulation system for T Store’s mobile games, applying the same criteria used by the Game Rating Board
- Expected to relieve developers’ burden through free and speedy examination
- Opened English page for overseas developers on Oct. 30 to aid their entrance into the Korean mobile game market

Seoul, Korea, November 17, 2011 — SK Planet announced today that it began implementing voluntary self-regulation for T Store
mobile games on November 16 to replace the pre-examination system of the Game Rating Board (GRB).

While conducted under the same criteria used by GRB, T Store’s voluntary self-regulation removes the developers’ cost burden by
offering the service free of charge unlike that of GRB, which requires a fee of around KRW 100,000.

Under the previous system, game developers could request game verification only after the completion of pre-examination by GRB,
which usually took from 7 to 15 days. However, with the newly implemented voluntary system, examination is conducted simultaneously
with the game verification process, thereby taking only two to three days before developers can release the game on T Store.

Game developers and partners of T Store said that they welcome the voluntary self-regulation system that handles examination
and verification at the same time, both free of charge, as they have been so far burdened by GRB’s long and complicated
pre-examination process.

Meanwhile, on October 30, SK Planet opened an English page at T Store’s official site for developers (http://dev.tstore.co.kr) to
enable overseas developers to enter the Korean mobile game market faster thanks to the voluntary self-regulation system,
which will in turn provide customers in Korea with speedier access to popular foreign-made games.

“Mobile game developers have been experiencing difficulties caused by GRB’s pre-examination system due to its complex
procedures and high cost,” said Lee Joo-sik, SK Planet’s Head of Service Platform Business Unit. “We expect T Store’s voluntary
self-regulation to serve as a catalyst for the growth of the Korean mobile game market, while facilitating overseas exports
of Korean games.”
