SK Planet Applies Authentication Code-Based In-App Purchasing to All T Store Contents

2012.07.31

- All T Store applications now require authentication code for in-app purchasing:
A milestone achieved in just five months after introducing the system for the first time in Korea

- Preventing unwanted in-app purchases with rapid, full application of customer protection measures including the
  Kids-Lock feature

Seoul, Korea, July 31, 2012 — SK Planet today announced that it competed applying the authentication code-based authorization
system to all contents on T Store, Korea’s largest application market.

In-app purchase refers to an act of buying additional content, virtual in-game items, functionality or full-version that will run on the
already downloaded application.

Since the end of February 2012, SK Planet has been preventing customer damage from unwanted in-app purchases by adopting
a new authentication process that requires users to enter a one-time four digit authentication code sent to their smartphones to
purchase extra content from within an application.

Then, within just five months of its introduction, the company completed applying the new system to all T Store contents thanks
to T Store’s strong efforts for customer satisfaction as well as active cooperation from application developers, thus paving the
way for T Store’s 15 million customers to make in-app purchases safely with no concern.

Moreover, all in-app purchase from within old-version applications that do not provide the new authentication system has been
blocked since June 30. SK Planet minimized customer inconvenience by notifying customers using the old-version applications
instead of updated ones through MMS, while constantly encouraging application developers to release an updated version
embedded with the new authentication system.

SK Planet’s T Store has grown into a safe and sound application market by aggressively adopting customer protection
measures related to purchase and payment, including a feature that locks children out of T Store called Kids Lock introduced
in November 2011.

“Korea’s top application market T Store applied the safest payment method for its 15 million customers to enjoy applications
without having to worry about accidental in-app purchases and will keep making efforts to offer services that can enhance
customer convenience and satisfaction,” said Park Jung-min, SK Planet’s Head of T Store Business Division.
