SK Planet to Showcase Creative Mobile-Based Convergence Products

2013.09.13
-  To hold an exhibition named Creator Planet to display items developed by combining mobile
platform and digital manufacturing technology like 3D printing

-  The event will feature presentations on innovative products developed from 16 chosen project
proposals, a workshop for children, and a seminar for beginners

Seoul, Korea, September 13, 2013—SK Planet today announced that it will hold Creator Planet, an exhibition and
conference that will run under the theme "The Mobile-Centered Integration of Online and Offline World:
The Infinite Possibilities and Joy of Creation" on September 14, at Ferrum Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul.

Creator Planet represents a new concept of event that encompasses a creativity contest, education and
exhibition. It will serve as a venue to encourage people to become more creative by showing them how
smart devices are used to marry mobile and things, while also helping them realize and share their
innovative ideas.

During the event, SK Planet will be displaying the resulting products of the 16 chosen project proposals
of the creativity contest it held in July 2013 to gather brilliant ideas. The 16 project proposals include an
automatic player for Korean traditional music, automatic fish feeder, interactive DJ app, Arduino-based
app for measuring one’s height, and manually controlled creative robot.

Following the July contest, SK Planet joined hands with TIDE Institute (www.tideinstitute.com) in August
to provide the 16 selected teams with diverse month-long education and training courses that combined
SK Planet’s rich experience in mobile platform and the Institute's expertise in digital manufacturing
technologies like 3D printing.

The members of the 16 teams, who come from various backgrounds, including computer engineering,
electronic engineering, design and modern art, will be presenting their work in front of the visitors tomorrow.
Then, the visitors will vote for the final winner of the creativity contest.

"SK Planet started Creator Planet to develop new converged products by putting together the creative ideas,
technologies and manufacturing capabilities of the talented creators in Korea," said Jeon Yun-ho, Chief
Technology Officer of SK Planet. "We will sustain our efforts to encourage creative activities in Korea in line
with the latest global trends, while focusing on identifying and developing new ideas that combine our mobile
platform with other areas of technologies and specializations.”

Meanwhile, Creator Planet will also feature a keynote speech by Song Ho-jun, a Korean artist who initiated
the 'Satellite Project,' an electronic circuit building workshop designed for children,  a seminar titled 'Physical
Computing, 3D Printing Seminar' for beginners, as well as the 'T Map Data Visualization Project' using big
data collected from 1.7 million T Map users. For detailed information on the event,
