SK Planet Unveils Integrated Infotainment Platform for Automobiles Named SKVIP

2013.04.01

- Revealed an innovative automotive infotainment platform called SK Vehicle Infotainment Platform (SKVIP)
that provides services including T Map, MelOn and Eco Driving

- Being showcased at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show, SKVIP is gaining great attention from visitors and industry experts

Seoul, Korea, April 1, 2013—SK Planet today unveiled SK Vehicle Infotainment Platform (SKVIP), an infotainment
(Information + Entertainment) platform developed for automobiles.

SKVIP offers specialized services by adding mobile connectivity to cars. The platform creates a connected environment
through the smartphone’s tethering feature, thus removing the need for installation of a separate communication modem.
Then, the driver's smartphone will act as an enabler for mobile communications as well as a hub for contents exchange.

In response to the recent trend of 'connected devices,' SK Planet has been actively promoting the development and
advancement of automotive platforms that combine diverse services and solutions. The company was able to develop
SKVIP thanks to its unique strength accumulated through the provision of both location-based services and entertainment
contents services.

SKVIP offers a wide variety of services including a car navigation service '3D T Map,' which is a version of T Map, Korea’s
most popular navigation service chosen by 16 million users; Korea's top music service MelOn; SimpleSync, a feature that
enables smartphone users to share contents stored in their devices; and Eco Driving, a service that provides customers
with useful guide to environmentally-friendly driving.

In particular, Eco Driving is being highlighted as an attractive service that can encourage drivers to adopt an eco-friendly
driving style. It scores their driving habits and fuel efficiency, and provides rankings based on these scores to boost positive
competition among drivers.

SK Planet plans to expand cooperative ties with automakers to shape SKVIP into a more innovative infotainment platform
capable of providing  a wider range of services including its existing vehicle diagnosis/control service and P2C (Phone to Car)
services.

Meanwhile, the company is showcasing SMart CONNECT, a version of SKVIP developed for Renault Samsung Motors,
in the Connectivity Experience Zone at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show being held at KINTEX from March 29 to April 7, 2013.
The SMart CONNECT service, jointly developed by SK Planet and Renault Samsung, has been commercialized for the
first time through SM5 Platinum released at the end of March.

"Developed in partnership with Renault Samsung Motors, SMart CONNECT represents the first fruit of SK Planet's strategy
on developing a smart car platform," said Kim Jang-uk, Senior Vice President and Head of LBS Business Division of SK
Planet. "SK Planet will work with more automakers to apply the platform to more diverse models, while adding a service
specially designed for electric vehicles."
