Seoul, Korea, November 9, 2011 ― SK Planet today announced that registered users of Smart Wallet, Korea’s first mobile wallet
service surpassed 3 million in just 18 months after launch.
 
Smart Wallet is SK Planet’s mobile wallet service that allows customers to use their smartphones to consolidate payments for
goods, loyalty point accumulation and coupon/gift certificate redemption. Users can simply download the application on their
smartphones to store as many cards as they want in their mobile wallet, including membership rewards cards, coupons, Gifticon
(mobile gift coupon), and gift certificates. The service is available on Android, iOS (iPhone, iPad), Windows Mobile, and WIPI-based
phones and can be downloaded from T Store, Android Market, App Store or by simply entering **10+nate, regardless of mobile carrier.
 
Since the service launched in June 2010, 108 brands have participated including SPC Happy Point (rewards program of Paris
Baguette, Dunkin Donuts, and Baskin Robbins), CJ ONE (loyalty program of VIPS, CGV, A Twosome Place, etc.), Lotte Members,
OK Cashbag and 11 St. As of this month, 60,000 stores around the country accept Smart Wallet. 
 
The number of users soared as participating merchants expanded to different categories such as restaurants, movie theaters
and shopping malls. The majority of users (80%) is in their 20s and 30s, and has on average three mobile credit cards and
membership cards, indicating that Smart Wallet will become a new must-have application for smartphone users.
 
SK Planet expanded its services in October and introduced Phone Bill Card that routes charges directly to mobile carrier bills
when placed against barcode scanner for payment of goods. It also supports diverse payment options such as prepaid card
for convenient stores, which can be loaded with value to make purchases, as well as department store gift certificates.
 
Smart Wallet provides differentiated functions depending on customer’s usage patterns. Its ‘Search’ function offers a list of
nearby preferred stores and displays routes to destinations, and ‘Budget’ feature allows users to track credit card transactions
and see balances at a glance.
