Seoul, Korea, September 11, 2012 — SK Planet today announced that it joined hands with Phoenix Park to realize a smart resort.

 

SK Planet and Phoenix Park today held a strategic partnership signing ceremony at the headquarters of Phoenix Park for full-fledged cooperation on creating a smart resort that provides users with diverse smartphone-based location-based services (LBS) and payment methods.

 

Under the partnership, the companies will build an environment where customers can conveniently enjoy various facilities and services - including T Map-based LBS and NFC technology-based mobile commerce - via their smartphones at both Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang and Phoenix Island in Jeju.  

Specifically, T Map will open a new menu within 'T Map Place' named 'Phoenix Park' and offer information on resort facilities and nearby areas, restaurants and tourist attractions, while also providing a timetable for shuttle bus service via its 'T Map Mass Transportation' menu.

 

Moreover, SK Planet's world-class mobile commerce platform technologies and services like 11 St, PayPin, NFC payment will be applied to allow customers to purchase ski lift/equipment rental passes at 11 St by simply tapping an NFC tag attached to facilities and shuttle buses with their smartphones, or use a simple payment service called PayPin to enjoy additional discounts.

 

Meanwhile, the two companies plan to install a large LED screen at the resort entrance to provide drivers with T Map's real-time traffic information.

It has premium-quality ski slopes designed to underline the beauty of the region, a top-class golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, and a Mediterranean themed water park equipped with various recreation and amusement facilities. Phoenix Island, located in Seopji Koji, Jeju Island, is a luxury marina resort complex. Recently, it became the first Korean resort to adopt a smartphone-based smart payment service for users of its water park Blue Canyon.
