T Store Becomes the First in Korea to Commercialize Mobile Gift Certificate Payment

2012.05.08
-  Signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea Culture Promotion Inc., Korea’s largest gift certificate issuer,
for cooperation in mobile payment

-  Gift certificate payment option available from early June on T Store

Seoul, Korea, May 8, 2012 — SK Planet announced today that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with
Korea Culture Promotion Inc. (KCPI, www.kcpi.co.kr) for cooperation in mobile payment. The partnership will allow the
two companies to commercialize mobile gift certificate payment using smart devices, for the first time in Korea, with plans
for embedding the function into T Store in June.

T Store is Korea’s leading mobile content marketplace that has 14.6 million registered users and 300,000 content offerings
in the categories of Application, VOD, E-book, Music and more.

Korea Culture Promotion Inc. is Korea’s largest gift certificate issuer that has the largest portfolio of participating merchants,
taking up 65% share in Korea’s KRW 700 billion gift certificate market in 2001.

At present, participating merchants that accept gift certificates issued by KCPI include 20,000 in-store merchants that range
from bookstores to amusement parks, as well as online websites whose services cover shopping, movies, and digital
content, among others. Thanks to the alliance between the two companies, customers making content purchases using
smart devices (smartphone, tablet PC, etc.) at T Store can now pay with gift certificates, thereby enjoying an additional
payment method along with previous options of credit card, direct carrier billing, T Store cash, OK Cashbag, and dotori.

SK Planet said that the introduction of gift certificate payment in the fast growing mobile payment market will improve
convenience for T Store users and accelerate the use of mobile content such as e-books and music.

“Thanks to the partnership, our customers can now use gift certificates not just in store or on the web, but also on mobiles
devices. We will continue to introduce payment functions that keep abreast with the rapidly changing ICT world and bring
greater convenience to our customers,” said Jang Hyeong-geun, Senior Vice President of Korea Culture Promotion Inc.

“We’ve introduced an addition payment option that is both safe and easy to use, in collaboration with KCPI. Going forward,
we will continue to make creative and ceaseless efforts to promote a healthy mobile ecosystem at home and abroad and
to serve as a global content distribution hub,” said Park Jung-min, Head of T Store Business Division of SK Planet
