SK Planet T Map Launches Custom Destination Search

2012.11.08
-  An innovation to T Map that makes life easy by letting customers register preferred search phrases for select
destinations and use them to access route guidance

-  Unique and personalized phrases can be used to seek directions to weddings, birthday parties and other events. B2B
service to be developed for corporate customers

SK Planet today announced the launch of Custom Destination Search (a paid service), which allows the customer to register
search words that can be used to easily query routes to select destinations.

This is one of the latest innovations in T Map’s route guidance services. The user queries the Point of Interest in advance and
saves a personalized search word or phrase that can be used later to seek directions to that destination. As the preset search
word can also be used by the family, friends and acquaintances who are themselves T Map users, this service will be very
helpful when organizing events and informing invitees of the venue.

If, for example, the proud mother of a soon-to-be one baby boy were to throw a birthday party for her son A at Hotel B, she can
register the phrase “A’s birthday party” which can then be used on T Map to query directions to Hotel A.

To use this service, customers must first log on to the T Map website. Then, they need to register the
preferred search phrase and specify how long they wish it to remain valid. Registration may be done as early as five days
before it needs to take effect.

Search phrases can take various forms. One may simply indicate the occasion as in “Susan’s Wedding,” or make a statement
as in “Susan’s getting married.” Each phrase may be up to 15 characters in Korean and 30 in Alphabets and/or numbers.

To celebrate the successful launch, the service will be available for free for a month from December 7, and a service charge
will be introduced thereafter.

SK Planet will, in the near future, offer related services targeting B2B customers, such as companies and organizations hosting
product launches, exhibitions and various other events.

Kim Jang-uk, Senior Vice President and Head of Open Social Business Division of SK Planet described the service as “a B2C
service that is very close to the everyday life provided via an open platform for not just the developers but also the regular
end-users.” As for the future ahead he added, “We plan to expand into the B2B segment and offer other value-adding services
in order to solidify T Map’s position as the undisputed leader in LBS.“

T Map is a one-stop location-based information service favored by over 14.7 million users. It provides real-time navigation for

October 2011. The app can be downloaded at the T Map website, T Store, Google Play
