T Store Pioneers in Protecting Developer’s Copyrights

2013.04.25
-  T Store ARM 3.0 developed by SK Planet as a proprietary copyright management solution
-  An easy to use security solution triggered with a single click at the point of app and games registration in T Store
-  A protection against illegal piracy of mobile contents that can contribute to a healthy mobile ecosystem

Seoul, Korea, April 25, 2013SK Planet announced today that all apps and games registered in T Store can now benefit from
T Store ARM 3.0, a proprietary Application Rights Management (ARM) solution for preventing the piracy of apps and games
distributed in T Store.

By making this solution available, SK Planet is taking a firm initiative to protect the rights of app developers whose works are
distributed via T Store, SK Planet’s open market for mobile contents (m.tstore.co.kr).

T Store ARM 3.0 is a security solution designed to prevent illegal copying and distribution of mobile contents. Each time
someone activates an app or a game protected by the solution, an authorization process is triggered to check by which
channel the content was purchased and whether the user has the right to use the content. ARM 3.0 codes have been encrypted
for stronger security protection.

The solution is extremely easy to use. When the developer first logs onto the app security center within the T Store Developer
Center (dev.tstore.co.kr) and registers the app (APK file), the security code encryption is automatically triggered and the
developer can download the app with the copyright protection solution embedded. SK Planet explained that more than 36,000
developers whose works are distributed in T Store can now protect their copyrights with a single click of the mouse.

T Store has thus far provided a software developer’s kit (SDK) that can be used in the process of app development to
strengthen security. The latest T Store ARM 3.0 solution is offered either as an SDK or as a solution that can be applied
automatically after the development is complete. SK Planet forecasts that the easy to access ARM solution will ensure
copyright protection for more apps and games. T Store ARM 3.0 is available since April 24 for all apps and games
registered in T Store.

“As the number of smart device users increases, applications have become an important form of content,” said Park Jung-min,
Senior Vice President and Head of T Store Business Division of SK Planet. “SK Planet will do our best to protect the developer’s
copyrights in order to sustain a healthy mobile ecosystem and enhance the value for both the developer and the consumer.”
