Seoul, Korea, June 27, 2013—SK Planet presented the ‘big data ecosystem’ model based on open collaboration
at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013 (MAE 2013) held in Shanghai, China.

MAE 2013 opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) on the 26. Mobile Asia Expo, which
celebrated its launch last year, is the largest mobile industry fair in Asia. The three-day event this year is organized
around the theme “Connecting to the Future”, and it will come to a close on the 28.

Jinwoo So, President and CEO of SK Planet, delivered a keynote speech on the second day of the Expo on the
significance of big data in the mobile environment and SK Planet’s commitment to creating a ‘big data
ecosystem’ based on open collaboration with partners.

In his keynote Jinwoo So said, “The success of big data depends on how well the nature of big data is
understood and how effectively it is combined with the capabilities of the service provider.” He cited ‘Always On,
Personalization and On-Offline Integration
’ as the three critical characteristics of the big data.

He also painted a future in which platform operators need to achieve three key goals to succeed: 1) an
environment that supports real-time delivery of information and services through smart devices (Always On),
2) integrated and optimized provision of products and data to meet individual needs (Personalization), and 3)
creation of new businesses that bring together the online and the offline (On-Offline Integration)
.

With that vision in mind “SK Planet has provided the information necessary to perform the important activities of
seeing, listening and consuming (ALL MATTERS*) based on a close linkage among the online, offline and the
mobile,” explained So. He then presented the actual examples of SK Planet working to raise competitiveness
internally with 11st and OK Cashbag as well as its efforts to analyze and utilize big data in partnership with various
business partners outside of the SK group. He then emphasized the commitment of SK Planet to promoting the
‘big data partner ecosystem’ based on open collaboration with the aim of supporting its business partners to
offer new values to their own customers.
