Easy Gifting With Gifticons ? All You Need is the Receiver’s Mobile Number

Seoul, Korea, July 10, 2013—SK Planet today announced a partnership with Korea Post to foster the sale of local produces
marketed on the retail shopping mall run by the postal service. SK Planet’s gifticon solution will bring greater convenience to
customers as delivery orders can be placed to the recipient’s mobile number, without his or her address.
 
For example, the buyer who is looking to purchase a gift for someone special can easily send any of the over 8,000 local
produces available on the Korea Post Shopping website (www.mall.epost.kr) in the form of a gifticon. All you need to know for
this transaction is the recipient’s mobile number. The receiver of the gift, on the other hand, can have it delivered on his
preferred date without added hassle of exchanging the gifticon with the actual product.
 
Through this partnership, SK Planet hopes to help small merchants dealing in local produces to expand their sales
channel. At the same time, SK Planet aims to offer customers an easy and convenient way to send high-quality local gifts.
 
In order to send someone a gifticon good for a locally-produced good, first log on to the Korea Post Shopping website
and choose the desired gift item. Then, click ‘Send Gifticon’ and key in the name of the recipient and his or her mobile
number. After the sender completes the payment transaction, a text message is sent to the recipient, who should then
follow through with an authentication and address input procedure for the delivery.
 
The text message, received after an order is placed for a Korea Post Shopping gifticon, can be viewed on both smartphones
and feature phones.
 
“We hope that the partnership will boost the bottom line of small-scale merchants whose primary sales channel is Korea
Post Shopping,” said Jung Ki-won, Vice President of SK Planet. “We are committed to linking the SK Planet infrastructure with
other shopping malls such as the one run by our partner. In doing so we hope to promote a shared growth model in which
both the large conglomerates and small local merchants can thrive together.”  
 
Korea Post Shopping will hold a special giveaway event for customers who make purchases using the gifticon. Anyone
who buys a gifticon for Korea Post Shopping products will be automatically entered in the giveaway, which is due to continue
until July 22. Eighty lucky winners will be given gifticons to receive products such as rice from Icheon, ramie leaf kimchi and
cake. Winners will be announced on the Korea Post Shopping website on July 30.
