SK Planet’s hoppin to Provide Pre-der Discount Offers

2013.06.28
-  Customers who make advance purchase of new offerings such as ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,’ ‘Boomerang Family’
and ‘Oblivion’ prior to their VOD release
will enjoy up to 30% discount
-  Hoppin plans to have cross-media releases take up over 30% of its new movie offerings, with male customers
in their 20s-40s showing strong interest in films that are released in cinemas and video-on-demand on the same day

Seoul, Korea, June 28, 2013—SK Planet today announced that its mobile video-on-demand service hoppin
(www.hoppin.com) will provide pre-purchase discount offers on newly released movies.

Hoppin will offer diverse discount offers to users who pre-order movies prior to the VOD release date. Movie fans who
make advance purchase of ‘G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ between June 28 and 30 will enjoy free viewing access to
‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation,’ while customers who pre-purchase ‘Boomerang Family’ between June 28 and July 3 will enjoy
20% off the regular price and receive a 30% discount coupon.

In addition, film enthusiasts pre-ordering Tom Cruise’s new movie ‘Oblivion’ between July 6 and 9 will receive
10% discount on movie purchase and earn 20% hoppin point. Hoppin plans to continually offer discounts on movie
pre-purchases to promote customer’s convenience.

Moreover, hoppin will expand its list of movie offerings that are released simultaneously in cinemas. An increasing
number of its customers are taking great interest in films that are released in cinemas and video-on-demand
on the same day. In fact, male users in their 20s-40s showed 4-5% higher purchase rate than female
customers on last May’s five most popular simultaneous media-wide releases.

Hoppin, therefore, plans to have cross-media releases take up over 30% of its new movie offerings. This week alone
it added nine new movies including ‘Ratima’ on 24th, ‘The Croods’ on 25th, and ‘Horror Stories 2’ on 27th.

“Men out-purchase multi-platform releases compared to women. This suggests that men are no less interested
in watching movies then women,” said Lee Jae-hwan, Senior Vice President and Head of Platform Business Division
of SK Planet. “For movie fans who are too busy to go to the cinemas hoppin has become a good alternative as
it gives users the convenience of watching movies of their liking whenever and wherever.”
