SK Planet T Map to Deliver Busan Bus Info Updates Real-time

2013.07.31
-  SK Planet and Busan City in partnership to deliver real-time bus updates covering 132 routes
and over 3,000 bus stations from August 1.

-  SK Planet to support the installation of QR codes and NFC tags for accessibility to updates at bus stations

Seoul, Korea, July 31, 2013—SK Planet today announced that T Map Public Transit will be providing users with
real-time information on bus routes, location and arrival time at each station. The updates will be sourced from
Bus Information Management System.

T Map Public Transit is an application service for pedestrians across Korea taking public transportation, such as
subways, buses, intercity buses, trains and airplanes.

SK Planet signed an MOU in March with Busan Metropolitan City for the supply of real-time bus information
pertaining to 132 routes and over 3,000 stations across the city beginning on August 1. SK Planet will install
QR codes and NFC tags in the city’s bus stations in order to support the use of public transport.

This partnership marks the fourth following Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Daejeon, which means that the network
of real-time bus information update will now be expanded to cover more than 20,000 stations across Korea.
Since April last year, T Map Public Transit has delivered real-time arrival time information on the five types of buses,
namely the four color-coded buses in blue, green, red and yellow and the town buses that operate on relatively
short routes. Since June, updates also include bus information in Gyeonggi Province and Daejeon City.

The Busan Metropolitan City also agreed to provide real-time updates on accidents and other unexpected events
affecting the traffic flow. This information combined with T Map’s real-time traffic forecast data will deliver more
precise route guidance to Busan citizens.

“Favored by 17 million users, T Map delivers not only GPS navigation service for drivers but also LBS features for
pedestrians, which it continues to upgrade,” said Kim Hoo-jong, Head of LBS Business Division of SK Planet.
He also revealed that the company envisions a one-stop service for easier use of location-based information.

T Map Public Transit is available to T Map users for free. Existing T Map users can access the Busan bus
updates without having to update their T Map app. Smartphone users can download the Android version from
T Store and the iOS version from Apple App Store.
