Seoul, Korea, October 23, 2013 SK Planet today announced that the company installed Media Flower,
an installation that blends ICT and art at Phoenix Park, located in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do.
The Media Flower embodies five-petalled hibiscus syriacus flower just ready to burst into bloom.
The white artwork that measures 14.8 m in height and 9.5 m in perimeter has five curved LED displays
that symbolize flower petals, while using fiber reinforced ceramics (FRC) for finishing.
Five LED displays of Media Flower will screen seasonal images that blend well with the surrounding
scenic beauty of Phoenix Park as well as creative and dynamic digital video work that will capture viewer’s
imagination. Moreover, it will also display T Map’s real-time traffic information and live weather information
sourced by Weather Pong.
In addition, its interactive photo kiosk will allow users to upload photos and messages through interworking
with the Cymera application to encourages visitors to not only observe the installation but also to interact with it,
thereby enhancing user experience.
