SK Planet Launches Fashion App Styletag

Seoul, Korea, November 15, 2013—SK Planet announced today the launch of its trendy fashion curation service,
Styletag, both in Korea and US. Users are served a wide selection of fashion items by choosing keywords tha
t describe their style preferences and needs.
 
Styletag is essentially a social fashion service, which curates photos and videos posted by designers, fashion
magazines, power bloggers and other fashion aficionados for users to easily save on their account and share
with friends.
 
Simplicity of viewing and sharing is a hallmark of Styletag which primarily targets style sensitive twenty- and
thirty-somethings. It does not have a complex menu and the screen layout is intuitive, allowing the user to browse
numerous looks in a single view. Users can tag and save items of their choice with keywords and get
recommendations of new or similar goods straight away.
 
For instance, if a user has found a picture of a black cashmere coat she likes, she could tag it with keywords ‘black’,
‘cashmere’ or ‘long coat’. Styletag will offer goods or pictures from fashion catalogues featuring related products,
in this case, a black long coat or a cashmere coat.
 
Searching for hot styles is made easy with our Tag Cloud Search functionality combined with top fashion buzzwords
selected by our fashion specialists. Unlike run-of-the-mill fashion apps and sites consisting of complex web of
categories, Styletag is easy to navigate. The tags which reflect the tastes and interests of the user population fill the
screen, the size of the tag reflecting the level of interest in that theme. There is no need to key in the query as
recommendations are literally at your fingertips. Simply tap the tag of interest and the related goods are displayed
for the user to choose from and make purchases.
 
One of the key innovations in Styletag is the convergence of commerce and contents. The latest video commerce
technology was applied to the app, which enables viewers to access information about goods featured in the video
and even to buy it on a linked page. SK Planet is collaborating with several broadcasting companies to achieve
a more seamless contents-commerce convergence and ensure that the contents delivered are of the highest quality.
 
Styletag was showcased for the first time last week at Tech Planet 2013 and is now widely available in the global
market including Korea and US through T Store, Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The plan is to develop
Styletag into a service platform that supports SOHO fashion companies and young designers to market their
products globally. SK Planet is committed to making Styletag a successful K-fashion enterprise that can serve
as an example of what businesses should be like in the emerging creative economy.
 
Last year, SK Planet had launched the pilot version of the Styletag in major fashion markets such as US and
Canada to analyze the user behavior patterns. The pre-release version recorded 1 million downloads in North
America, and it was received with a lot of excitement at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in February in Barcelona.
Meanwhile, SK Planet is collaborating with the Seoul Broadcasting Service to co-produce Fashion King Korea,
a competitive reality TV show. The contestants who are pairs of celebrities and fashion designers are co-working
with Styletag on this exciting survival project.
