Seoul, Korea, December 17, 2013—SK Planet today announced T Store’s (m.tstore.co.kr) results for 2013.
T Store has solidified its position as Korea’s leading open market for mobile content, favored by 21.6 million registered users who enjoys its 1.17 million published content offerings. As of December, the largest marketplace of its kind in Korea crossed the milestone of 1.6 billion cumulative downloads with its cumulative transaction volume exceeding KRW 442 billion.

Backed by new content consumption trends, new records have been set. Thanks to increase in the demand for multimedia content such as VOD and e-book, highest daily transaction volume broke the KRW 2.6 billion mark.
Strong growth in shopping category that sells real life products in the form of coupons also contributed to setting a new record. Daily page views topped 19 million as more users enjoy mobile webtoons and novels through live streaming.

SK Planet released T Store top download charts by category based on the figures from January to November this year. Chart topper in the Games category was Kunlun Korea’s Armed Heroes, with card trading games enjoying strong popularity. In the service category, SNS and video streaming services including KaKao Talk and Tube Mate Casual secured high spots. Phone decorating apps as well as investment related apps also enjoyed great support from users.

Meanwhile, SK Planet will host T Store Developers Night (http://skpla.net/dev.night.2013) today 5:00 p.m. at Sheraton D-Cube City. The third annual event will recognize outstanding developers who contributed to the growth of the mobile ecosystem and share this year’s progress as well as outlook for the coming year’s mobile ecosystem.

“For the past four years, T Store has been committed to fostering a strong mobile ecosystem at home and abroad, based on its policy of openness and co-existence,” said Lee Jae-hwan, Head of T Store Business Division of SK Planet. “We will continue to make creative and ceaseless efforts with developers to grow T Store into a global content distribution hub that not only appeals to Korean users but enjoys strong support from
global customers.”
