   SMS to guardians

Seoul, Korea, June 16, 2014 – SK Planet today launched the Tmap Walker, a GPS navigation app for people on foot.
This is the fruit of a partnership between SK Planet and Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency that began in November
2013 with an MOU for a joint project to develop GPS navigation app. The idea was conceived to help women, children,
elderly and the disabled get home safely even during night times when the streets are darker and more prone to crimes.

The service will cover security-related information of the entire Gyeonggi Province after an initial pilot in Siheung.
The two partners held some ten working level meetings to determine which information to provide to users that would
help make their way home safer. Problems were identified and accuracy of route guidance was evaluated during joint
field demonstrations and testing. After troubleshooting, new features were added to allow users to make emergency
calls to the police as well as send location data to seek help.

Tmap Walker offers route guidance based on the user’s choice of three options:  ‘shortest distance’, ‘without steps’,
and ‘safe route’. SK Planet collected a vast amount of data on pedestrian pathways and laid it over its GPS map to
be able to not only recommend the shortest way to the destination but also the route without overpasses, underpasses
and steps for those who may find them obstructive such as the elderly, disabled and mothers with baby in strollers.
The pedestrian can choose the most optimal route given his or her circumstances.

One of the options for route search is ‘safe route’, which suggests routes based on police data. In this mode,
the app prioritizes wider over narrower passages, and streets that are well-lit over dark ones. The map also shows
the location of CCTVs, street lights, security lights, police stations, safety houses for kids, and convenience stores
that operate around the clock so that the user can reach his or her destination more safely.

For the pilot SK planet incorporated some 26,000 security facilities such as CCTVs into the map and will continue
to expand the coverage to all of Gyeonggi Province by the end of this year in close partnership with the Gyeonggi
Police Agency. The final goal is to cover the whole country working with the National Police Agency.

Tmap Walker does more than guide users on their way home by offering help in emergency situations. It can send
the location of the user every 3 to 10 minutes to his or her pre-defined guardians. Users can also set off an alarm
that sounds like a police car siren by shaking the smartphone. To seek the immediate help of the police, a touch
of the ‘112 emergency call’ tab is all it takes.

Choi Dong-hae, Chief of the Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency, explained: “This partnership is an excellent example
of the synergies that can be made when the technology and expertise of private sector businesses like SK Planet are
brought together with public sector data. The partnership produced a reliable public security system designed to protect
the safety of all and especially those who are considered more vulnerable to risks.”

SK Planet COO Jang Dong-hyeon noted: “We are very happy to have our LBS technology contribute to ensuring safety
in the community. We will continue our cooperation with government bodies to create a wider range of mobile offerings
that can serve the public good and make our world a better place.”

This project is a prime example of the Government 3.0 approach of partnering with the private sector and utilizing
advanced ICT. Thanks to Tmap Walker women, who have been more vulnerable to crimes, will enjoy significantly
higher level of security.

Tmap Walker is available for all Android users regardless of their mobile operator of choice. It can be downloaded from
T Store and Google Play starting June 17 afternoon free of charge.
