SK Planet to Hold Tech Planet 2014

- To hold Tech Planet 2014 that will highlight recent developments in the IT field both
from industrial and technological perspectives on November 3rd at COEX Convention and
Exhibition Center located in Samsung-dong, Seoul


- Global tech firms such as Google and Facebook and mobile commerce leaders including
Foursquare, Shopify, and Etsy will participate in the event to discuss the future outlook for
O2O commerce as well as key IT trends  



Seoul, Korea, October 2, 2014—SK Planet today announced that it will hold Tech Planet 2014 on November 3rd
at COEX Convention and Exhibition Center located in Samsung-dong, Seoul. Tech Planet is SK Planet’s global tech
conference that provides a unique opportunity for Korean developers to explore global ICT technologies and network
with global startups.

Now into its third year, SK Planet’s annual global tech conference Tech Planet plans to invite a broad spectrum of
speakers from global IT firms as well as notable startups that will share their insights into global technology trends
as well as implications for the future.

The attendees of this year’s Tech Planet will get a chance to learn about the latest technologies adopted by mobile
commerce platforms and explore what the present and future outlook for O2O (Online to Offline) commerce would be.  


Tech Planet 2014 will be held under the theme of “Technologies Changing the World” and will feature 18 sessions
across three tracks of commerce, platform, and emerging technology. Shopkick,
a mobile commerce company recently
acquired by SK Planet, will discuss its unique services as well as impact on the market and the U.S.-listed Alibaba will
introduce visual search that allows for image queries based on image and video.

Moreover, global tech firms such as Google and Facebook and mobile commerce providers including Foursquare,
Shopify, and Etsy will participate in the event to discuss a wide range of interesting topics such as online and offline
commerce, big data, JavaScript, media, User Experience (UX), Internet of Things (IoT), wearable, and deep learning.

In addition, SK Planet plans to introduce its cutting-edge technologies and how it established mobile commerce environment
needed to run ‘Syrup’ which stands at the core of its ‘Next Commerce’ strategy unveiled in June. SK Planet also plans
to share its development and operation know-how with the attendees.


“Tech Planet, now into its third year, will cover a wide spectrum of topics from emerging technologies to O2O commerce
