Meet the Future of Commerce at Tech Planet 2014

Seoul, Korea, October 21, 2014—SK Planet announced that commerce players from Korea, U.S,
and Japan will discuss the future outlook for the commerce industry at SK Planet’s global tech conference
Tech Planet 2014.

SK Planet said that the stellar lineup of keynote speakers for the Tech Planet 2014 scheduled for
November 3rd at COEX Convention and Exhibition Center located in Samsung-dong, Seoul includes
Jeon Yun-ho, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of SK Planet, Cyriac Roeding, CEO of Shopkick, a leader
in the U.S. O2O (Online to offline) commerce market, and James Chen, Vice Executive Director of Rakuten,
world’s fourth largest e-commerce company in terms of sales.  

Jeon Yun-ho, CTO of SK Planet will take the podium as the opening speaker. In his presentation titled
‘O2O Commerce from a Technological Perspective’, he will discuss key trends in the global commerce
market, recent developments in the O2O commerce and the present status of SK Planet’s commerce
business at home and abroad from a technology-oriented perspective. His presentation will be followed
by ‘Shopping 3.0: How Technology is Overhauling the In-Store Experience’ to be delivered by Cyriac Roeding,
CEO of Shopkick who will introduce O2O market in the U.S. and Shopkick’s services. Next in line will be
James Chen, Vice Executive Director of Rakuten who is expected to inspire the audience with the keynote
themed on ‘Future of Global E-Commerce Technology Platform’. He will discuss technology and platform
strategy decision points one must make to win the hearts and minds of omni-channel shoppers.

The panel discussion following the keynotes will be moderated by Lee Kyung-jun, professor of Kyung Hee
University. The three keynote speakers and Choi Yong-suk, co-founder of CRM and BLE solutions provider
Quintet (www.quintet.co.kr) will engage in in-depth discussions under the subject of ‘Technology and
Development Outlook for Omni-Channel Service’. SK Planet said “we expect the three keynote speakers
from leading e-commerce firms in Korea, U.S, and Japan to present their vision of the direction of the global
commerce industry by sharing their experiences and insights.

Tech Planet 2014 will be held under the theme of “Technologies Changing the World” and will feature
18 sessions across three tracks, covering commerce, platform, and emerging technology.

Moreover, global mobile commerce players such as Alibaba, Google, Facebook, Foursquare, Shopify, and
Etsy will participate in the event to discuss a wide spectrum of topics such as online and offline commerce,
big data, media, User Experience (UX), Internet of Things (IoT), wearable, and deep learning.

Online pre-registration for Tech Planet 2014 will start today at 2 p.m. through the official website
(http://techplanet.skplanet.com) and the entire registration fee (KRW 10,000) will be donated to increase
accessibility of IT for underserved population. The total amount of registration fee from last year’s event
was donated to purchase computers and other IT devices for children at Shinmang Won, a social welfare
organization located at Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do.
