SK Planet to Recognize Promising Early Startups

2014.11.19
- Experts and entrepreneurs with proven startup success to talk about venture biz know-how
and investment attracting strategies

- Audience and jury to vote on promising early startups to select winners of the open IR competition

Seoul, Korea, November 19, 2014—SK Planet will hold the final TryAngle Talk Concert of the year in Seoul
on November 20th. The event will also recognize the winners of the startup IR competition.

The TryAngle Talk Concert was first launched by T Academy in 2012 to support venture companies to grow
their business. Each year startup experts have held talks in eight large cities across Korea to share knowledge
that can help ventures take off. The events also provided a chance for budding entrepreneurs to network with
investors and attract the much needed investment.

Guest speakers at the Seoul leg of the TryAngle Talk Concert include Han Jae-sun, CTO of FuturePlay,
Lee Han-ju, CEO of SparkLabs, Lee Hye-min, Country Manager of Noom Korea and Park Ji-woong, CEO
of Fast Track Asia. The talks will focus on the keys to success for early startups and strategies that can
help them secure investment.

One of the highlights of this year’s talk concert is the Open IR competition. Eight startups selected among
the participants of Insider 2014, a free mentoring program for ventures offered by T Academy, and candidates
nominated by local organizations will pitch their project proposals to the jury and the audience. Two winning
teams will each be awarded a place in 101 Startup Korea, SK Planet’s incubation program, and residency
at the SBA Venture Plus Center along with other prizes.

This year the TryAngle Talk Concert began in September and entertained over 770 participants in seven
cities before coming to Seoul. So far, some 20 startup experts have mentored the aspiring entrepreneurs.
Admission to TryAngle Talk Concert 2014 in Seoul is free and open to all startups, developers, and planners.
Those wishing to attend may sign up at the SK Planet Open Innovation Center website (http://oic.skplanet.com).

According to Kim Du-hyun, Senior Vice President of Commerce Planning Office, “TryAngle Talk Concert 2014
has been a great success with a large turnout across Korea.” In a statement of commitment to nurturing ventures
Kim said, “SK Planet will continue to offer programs to support startups to be successful and become leaders
of the creative economy.”
