Seoul, Korea, April 13, 2015—SK Planet announced that the company’s mobile pre-ordering service Syrup Order has expanded its reach to 760 outlets of Caffebene.
Syrup Order is a smartphone-based pre-ordering service launched in October last year. The new concept of O2O (Online to Offline) commerce service helps customers to find nearby stores and their menus, and gives users the ability to place their orders before they arrive at the store and make payments directly from their smartphones.
As Syrup Order signed up 760 outlets among 900 nationwide Caffebene stores, the service is now available at 1,000 outlets of 41 coffeehouse brands including Coffee Smith and Café DROPTOP, becoming the mobile pre-ordering service that boasts that largest number of partnering stores in Korea.
The number of its partnering stores jumped fivefold in just two months after surpassing 140 outlets in February. The proliferation of partnering outlets is giving consumers a wider selection of stores within a 500 meter radius. Moreover, a new feature ‘Store Locator’ has been added to enable users to locate stores and place orders in areas where GPS reception is poor.
Syrup Order plans to evolve into a service that enhances the convenience of everyday life by expanding the reach of its partnership to amusement parks and restaurants. The service will strengthen its links to the web-based payment service Syrup Pay and restaurant recommendation Syrup Table, with the aim of evolving into a smart O2O service.
Park Jung-min, Head of Consumer Product Group explained, “Syrup Order quickly grew into a mobile pre-ordering service that boasts 1,000 partnering outlets thanks to its great popularity among younger customers who are attracted by the smart shopping experience that it delivers.” Park also expressed the company’s commitment to “work closely with micro merchants and provide efficient marketing tools to build a commerce ecosystem that is not only beneficial to large food and beverage brands but also to micro merchants.”
To celebrate the partnership with Caffebene, SK Planet will hold a special event starting from the 20th. The newly released snow ice flake menus will be offered at a price as low as KRW 1,000 to customers who place orders on the Syrup Order app. Syrup Order is available for download on T Store, Google Play, and Apple’s App Store.
