- Launches a new fashion O2O service which allows shoppers to consume fashion, without having to commit to buying and keep up with fashion’s fast-turning trend cycles
- Features 12,000 fashion items sourced from 100 famous brands, which users can order four times a month for a flat monthly fee of KRW 80,000
Seoul, Korea, September 22, 2016—SK Planet announced that PROJECT ANNE will officially launch on September 23. The Korea’s first ‘streaming service for fashion’ will allow style-savvy shoppers to use the clothing subscription services to restyle their wardrobe and try out latest clothes and bags of emerging designers and contemporary brands.
SK Planet approached the concept of fashion consumption from the viewpoint of access, not ownership. Just as streaming movies and music, instead of owning became the norm, PROJECT ANNE enables shoppers to wear and return clothes whenever they want instead of investing in them— it’s like music streaming for your closet.
PROJECT ANNE is available through mobile app, and users can connect with the service through their smartphones from wherever they are. A monthly subscription costs KRW 80,000 per month for one fashion item shipped at a time, four times a month, and KRW 130,000 for ordering two pieces a time, four times a month. Users can simply pay through SK Planet’s easy pay services Syrup Pay, without having to making additional installations. Users who make a long-term commitment can receive a 10% discount.
SK Planet has a dedicated team that carefully handpicks edgy, stylish fashion items for the season. Its fall/winter 2016 selections feature 12,000 fashion pieces sourced from 100 brands such as Opening Ceremony and Erika Cavallini that are one of the hottest fashion brands in New York and Milan, and emerging brands in Korea including Johnny Hates Jazz and Push Button, not to mention Korea’s well-established fashion brands such as Obzee and O’2nd.
If users like a product they tried out, they can save it on their wish list and check their prices of a given time. The service also helps users make wiser purchasing decisions as they can try out new style and get feedback from friends and acquaintances before making a purchasing decision. In addition, users can save up to 80% on new products before the season ends.
SK Planet expects PROJECT ANNE to satisfy shoppers who are highly fashion conscious but also “savvy” when it comes to making purchasing decisions. The service will deliver a whole new consumption experience to shoppers who wish to try out with new trends and brands but reluctant to do so due to limited budget, as well as to users who want to try out the product more thoroughly before purchasing them.
“Music streaming is reshaping the music business, and as seen in the success of Netflix, today’s TV and movie fans are also opting to stream rather than own,” said Kim Min-jung, Senior Vice President of Project Office 1. “We have brought the same idea of streaming into the fashion industry as we expect more and more shoppers to prefer the idea of commitment-free-fashion and trying out new brands and trends without necessarily having to own them.”
SK Planet has partnered with Coloz (www.coloz.co.kr), a personalized fashion consulting startup to help users find flattering styles that suit their personal colors and body shape. Moreover, SK Planet has a dedicated space for PROJECT ANNE at its logistics center in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, where the entire cycle of service including shipping, product recovery, laundry, repair, and merchandise checking is managed and overseen.
